Coke Roast!!!

I have to tell yall, this is the EASIEST meal I have ever made!! And its delicious!! You can ask my Momma, I just normally don't like roast, but this one is super yummy! And since we have them over flowing out of our freezer in the basement, I'd say it was a lucky strike that I (and the Farmer) love this recipe!! He has been asking me to make it for a while, so I finally gave in! He told me the procedure one day while I wasn't paying attention, so when I got up yesterday morning and was feeling all "becky homecy" I couldn't remember what he said to do....hmmmm....I decided to search the Farmers Family recipe book and voilà I found it!!! And it's his Momma's recipe!! Here I was thinking that my Farmer had come up with this idea all on his own..hehehe!!

Ok now the recipe!

-A beef or pork roast (I used a sirloin tip roast, only because I didn't know which one to choose...we had beef roasts, chuck roasts, and round roasts! I had no clue which one to use, so I rationalized that I love sirloin, so the tip roast must be the best!! I'm ashamed to admit that I have worked with The Mississippi and Montana Beef Council's...you think I would have remembered something more about which roast is best!!)
-1 pkg. Dry Onion Soup Mix
-1 Can of Coke (I used Diet Dr. Pepper)
-1 Can of Mushroom Soup (I used the fat free version)

Now all you do is....

Put the roast in the crock pot

Cover with the Cream of Mushroom Soup

Then the Dry Onion Soup

Then pour the coke over

Now turn it on high for the first couple of hours...then after lunch put it on low and it will be ready to eat at supper!

The house smelled soo good all day!!

Doesnt it look good!! And soo EASY!!

MMMMmmm!!! I love my Crock Pot!!

I made a few side dishes to go along with my roast..and since I was on an "easy" streak, I opened up a can of refrigerated crescent rolls and baked them up, then cranked open a can of corn and tossed it in the microwave!! DONE! :)

  1. This is my favorite recipe for roasts too. If you want, you can just quarter some potatoes, slice some onions, and throw them in the bottom of the pot with some baby carrots and cook on low all day. Then your veges are all done at the same time!
