Thanksgiving!!

Last year I started the tradition of cooking a Thanksgiving meal for us, so that we could have leftovers...I adore turkey sandwiches!! :)  I use the little turkey breast roast and cook them up in the crock pot, so easy and soo good! I also made cornbread dressing, candied yams, asparagus casserole, cranberry salad, yeast rolls, and cinnamon/honey butter!! And I am soo stuffed right now I can barely type!! :) Not to mention I made a cheese ball and little smokies to snack on all day!! Love being preggo during the holidays...he he :)

this is the The Farmer's family recipe, it is soo good, and I hate cranberries. Its full of sugar, apples and pineapples!! It's a bit of a mess to make, but soo worth it!

Asparagus casserole...it was ok, but probably wont use recipe again :)

why does the dressing always look green in pics?!?! It was not green, but it was YUMMO!!

Cinnamon Honey Butter, like Texas Roadhouse...amazing!!

my little turkey loved the rolls :)

then came the Pecan Cheesecake Pie...recipe here...http://insidebrucrewlife.com/2013/11/pecan-cheesecake-pie/
make it, you'll thank me later :)

didn't come out very neat but it's sooo good :)
Happy Thanksgiving Yall!! :)

The moment I became a mom...

Warning: viewer discretion advised!

You think you become a mom when you give birth, but I'm here to tell you that's simply not true! The moment you become a mom is the first time your sweet little precious angel baby vomits ALL over you!!! Sure, he's spit up on me and I've had poop, snot, food on me from time to time, but nothing compares to the all out projectile puking I experienced this morning! Oh my, I'm still traumatized! He was not feeling fab yesterday but I just gave him some ibuprofen and chalked it up to teething...cut to this morning, he's still not feeling great and pretty mopey. I put on mickey and we snuggled in the chair until he started rolling around saying  "hurt, hurt" I just assumed he was trying to poop, little did I know! All of a sudden it started and I froze! Throw up all over the two of us, I thought it was over, but sadly it continued, I didn't know what to do, so jumped up and ran us to the bathroom with him still going the whole time. I started the water for a bath about the time he finally started to ease up. But of course he was just as traumatized as I was and clung to me like an abused spider monkey! There was nothing I could do, we sat there together on the bathroom floor sandwiched in puke and I just rocked my sweet angel waiting for the moment he would calm down. I became a mom right there on that bathroom rug, water still running, chunks of milk rolling down my arms. Then The Farmer came home. He heard the water, and came in the bathroom stepping in the vomit as he rushed to us and suddenly stopped as he realized just what was soaking his socks..then disgustedly started taking them off...he got no sympathy from the "new mom" covered in puke trying to comfort a puke soaked little angel that continued clinging to me for dear life. The shock soon wore off and The Farmer helped me loosen his grip, get his clothes off and into the bath kicking, screaming, and yelling "mommy, mommy!" As I flung off my clothes and started grabbing everything that had been "contaminated" all I could think was that's right little angel, I'm your mommy and always will be :)

Merritt and Life These Days!

Oh Merritt! Where do I begin!?! He is quite the little boy! Lately he is obsessed with ropes! Anything that looks remotely like a rope he grabs and swings it around and says "ye-haw cowboys!" Usually he uses my Emi Jay hair ties (when I need one to pull my hair back, I tell him to get me a rope and he finds one!), my elastic headbands, or any sort of string! This morning we got down his kids rope that my Daddy got him and he was in LOVE!! Watch out world!!

He is rarely awake without his hat on, we have several, just in case :) He still loves to watch Toy Story, but recently he has become captivated by The Polar Express and calls it Tenta (Santa), he talks about Santa alot and says HoHoHo when you ask him what Santa says, but I don't think he gets the whole concept. Can't wait to put our tree up!

He still adores playing with his tractors and combine and we have a few of our Christmas Little People out that he really likes too!

When he falls or jumps off one of his riding toys he says "Whoa Buddy!!" and if his hat doesn't fall off, he knocks it off! It's super cute! He also likes to ask you "What Doin?" and when he wants to get up in the morning he yells, "Mommy!! Stuck!!"  ...your not stuck buddy, your just in your bed!! :) he is just growing up so fast I wish it would slow down a little bit! He knows where the baby is and if you ask him he says "Mommy's Tummy" then kisses my tummy..so sweet! Hope he likes it as much when it comes out! :)

On another note, at our MOPS meetings they always ask if any body has a baby on the way to announce, so this past week I got up and got to pick a pair of socks out of a bag to see what the gender would be...I got pink socks!! I'm sure the little boy I know I'm having will love wearing them...hehehe!! :)

He also really overuses the word hurt, something is always hurt and the only thing that will cure it is a kiss from Mommy! It pretty much makes my life!! :)  He loves to play the wake up/night night game too (check out my youtube videos for the cuteness!)

Harvest is winding down and we are VERY thankful to have The Farmer around a little more! Being in your first trimester of pregnancy, having an almost two year old, and what felt like a million photo shoots during harvest is something I would NOT recommend!! We did alot of napping, alot of wrecking the house, alot of drinking Ginger ale, and alot of picnics in the living room but we made it through and now Mommy is feeling alot better!

We are getting very excited for Christmas around here, I have most of my shopping done, but am planning to go Black Friday shopping with my friend Tracey, so hopefully that will finish it all up! I haven't been Black Friday shopping in ages and I am both scared and excited! Stay Tuned! :)
